Well, not quite ... the food on the ship (the lamb is a deliciously innocent animal) and at the little place in Patras was awesome. I'm typing in Patras right now. We arrived via ferry from Brindisi. The ferry was not what I expected. It was more like a cruise ship than the ferries I think of. We ended up here much later than we expected. I think the schedule we checked at greekferries.gr didn't treat us so well ... or maybe I misread it. In short, it looks like we'll be sleeping in Athens tonight, then we're going to try to explore Mykonos tomorrow. We met some cool Americans and Aussies on the ferry. I think the Aussies are staying in Patras while the Americans are couch-surfing (couchsurfing.com, I think) in Athens. We'll be hosteling, most likely.
It seems that Brindisi is pretty much a jump point for Greece and not a tourist destination on its own. I really wonder how they feel about having people simply buy lunch, then hump their packs through the city and onto the boat speaking really bad Italian all the way.
Well, train in 30 min, so I need to cut it on that note ... at some point I'll post a meaningful blog.
